DIVING MENJANGAN &
SNORKELING MENJANGAN
The name is given because the place is the home of Bats spread on the eastern island's wall through different caves. A great drift dive while a mild current is running start by drop off on this great wall. Usually it is a good place for sharks and other big fish. the cave is in shallow water and rocky area and can be accessed via snorkeling
This dive begins from the most northwestern tip of Menjangan Island and follows the wall southwards towards the Bali/Menjangan channel. You will see some of the healthiest and most diverse corals on Menjangan here, while the cracks and breaks in the wall are filled with a great diversity of reef fish. Gradually following the wall from the top (5-8m) to the bottom 25m (max depth 35m), you enter a large, white, sandy slope with sand-eels, mature gorgonian fans and longnose hawkfish.
This site is at the northeastern point of the Island and is known for truly spectacular coral reef life. The valley shape of site goes from 3m deep to 28m, featuring huge gorgonian fans and sponges that are home to moray eels, lion-fish and thousands of small colorful fishes; special inhabitants include mantas and reef sharks. Turtles are frequently seen at about 7m, making these special encounters available to both snorkelers and divers. The gentle current here makes this popular site accessible to divers of all levels.
Located at the most southeastern point of Menjangan island, this gentle drift dive starts at 12m where the white sand slope meets the top of the wall. The direction of the dive is current dependent, but contains a profusion of soft corals, sponges, small gorgonians, moray eels and lion-fish in both directions. Where the island rounds to the northeastern corner, there is an upwelling of cold waters from the deep ocean with large gorgonian fans. Turtles and pelagic species like manta rays, sharks and the occasional mola mola are also drawn here.
No-one actually knows the origin of this small wooden boat, nor its true name. The “Anker” name comes from the anchor that lies 6-8m below the surface. The remainder of the wreck has settled at 35 to 50m.
This is one of the deepest dive sites offered in Pemuteran Bay; with good visibility and calm conditions, this dive is a great choice for experienced divers. Starting the dive at the deepest point, we follow the anchor chain down to where the steep, coral-clad sandy slope (approx 30m) houses a second anchor.

BIOROCK SNORKELING
Depths: 5 to 28 meters. Visibility: 10 to 40 meters, average 20 meters. Travel time: 5 to 10 minutes. The site named because something always turns up to make this dive memorable, it might be an eagle ray, whale shark, reef shark, a school of tuna, jacks, fusiliers, snappers, or other reef fish. On the eastern side of this reef is a steep slope and drop-off: not only the coral is excellent here also the fish like to congregate, especially if there is a bit of current. To finish off your dive there are also splendid coral gardens at 3-5 meters, it is easy and pleasant to do a long safety stop. Also great for snorkeling.
About 1km from shore are a chain of reefs and underwater islands left over from a long extinct volcano. In the same stretch of water as Menjangan Island, they offer a wider variety of topography and are home to a vast array of underwater life. From 35m deep walls to shallow plateaux of coral gardens as far as the eye can see, across over 25 different reef sites will keep you amused for many days.
Depths: 12 to 38 meters, Visibility: 10 to 20 meters, average 15 meters. Travel Time: 5 to 10 minutes. Discovered in early 1996, the steep sides of this reef rise up from the sea floor at around 38 meters to a plateau-like reef top at 12 meters. iT has an amazing assortment of corals & invertebrates, including table corals, giant leather corals, sponges, nudi branches. Also to be found on its western side is a large number of red “flaming scallops” whose “silver lining” flashes continuously. Eagle rays have often been sighted around this reef as well as schools of fusiliers, jacks, and silver-sides.
Depth; 5 to 30 meters, Visibility: 8 to 30 meters, Travel time from shore: 5 to 10 mins. This site was affected years ago by cyanide fishing and Crown of Thorn starfish. It is in recovery now due to AusAid funding which allowed the Reef Gardeners of Pemuteran to maintain and protect the site. In 2005, they sank 2 Bio-Wreck structures, one of wood and one of steel, connected to low voltage solar panels. Next to the Bio-wreck is the largest single species of coral (povaris sp.) in Bali, believed to be over 1000 years old. On the other side, is our newest Bio-rock structure, the Bio-turtle, sunk in April 2009. This site’s great for snorkeling too.
KARANG LESTARI
The Artificial Reef project and excellent for night dives
It placed at front of "Karang Lestari" coral project, off the shore just on the front left of our dive base. The Rock seem from a sandy bottom about 18mtrs. Sandy slopes surrounding end up to the beach. The place is an interesting for dive or snorkeling during the day and lots of critters muc species also small fishes but diferences to the night dive that more alive usualy lobster, more nudy, shrimps, crabs, cat fish and even electric clams.
Karang Lestari is a project place of award winning artificial reef project on their best team structures coral growth made of metal using small voltage electricity from the base.
